I think that it was wrong that the Americans dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. It was a horrifying incident and the people in Hiroshima are still suffering from that one event.
In under a minute of the bomb dropping from over 50,000 people died from the blast. The people in Hiroshima didn’t get a warning of the bomb so the bomb was dropped without warning. Around 140, 000 innocent people died after the bombing due to the explosion and the radiation.
This was an unjustified massacre on the Japanese and this was only done to show the rest of the world their ultimate power. The Americans were already winning the war with Japan and Japan would have eventually surrendered. America should have invaded Japan instead of dropping the bomb. Alternatively America should have shown Japan the video footage of the bomb being dropped in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The Americans were scared of Russia as they claimed to have nuclear weapons and the Russian army was in Germany, so Russia would not tolerate their soldiers being killed by the Americans and Russia would retaliate by taking over any American held places in Europe such as France. [/u][/b]

9/10 - a fine effort!!! For a bonus point - when did the Soviets (use that term, not 'Russians') successfully test their first atom bomb?

The Soviet Union developed and tested their first nuclear weapon in 1949. They found out how to build the bomb due to Soviet spying in the United States.
